Abstract

Professor of theology at Calvin Theological Seminary. The collection includes address given at Calvin Seminary for the opening of the school year, 1905; a translation of a historical account written in Dutch and published in Het Jaarboekje of 1908, entitled "A Short Historical Account of What Happened at the Christian Reformed Church in Vriesland, Michigan"; three bound manuscripts of H. Beuker's class lectures; and pamphlets.

Biographical Note

Born May 6, 1838, at Hallum, Province of Friesland. Graduated from Kampen in 1865.

Served churches in De Leek, December 1865 - May 1874; Stads-Musselkanaal, 1874; Bunde, Oostfriesland, Germany, 1974-1877; Vriesland, Michigan, 1877-1884; Assistant Professor at Calvin Seminary, 1883; Professor of Church History, 1884. Emeritated in 1905. Died December 4, 1920.

Served for four years as Editor of De Wachter and for forty years as one of the editors of The Yearbook.

His first wife was Aagie Andree, nine children. She died in 1896. His second wife was Maria Gezon (widow of Dr. Wm. Van Putten). His third wife was the widow of Rev. H. Van Hoogen.
