La Marie, Martin | Heritage Hall, Hekman Library

Martin La Maire (25 May 1920 - 20 Aug 2011) was an advertising artist and active in Ebenezer Christian Reformed Church (where he was a member), Roseland Christian Schools, and Roseland Christian Ministries in the Chicago area.  He retired from the Chicago Tribune in 1984 and served as a news correspondent for the Banner.  In his church he was clerk of the council, served on various committees, chair the 125th anniversary committee, and served as church secretary.

La Maire married Johanna Gelderloos (1917-2002) in 1945.  They had two children, Martha (married Frank Hules) and Paul (married Linda).  After Johanna died, he married Annette Buurstra.
