Biographical Note
John Bolt was born 7 October 1947 in Grootegast, Groningen, the Netherlands. He attended Calvin Theological Seminary receiving his BD in 1973 and his ThM in 1977; and a PhD from the University of St. Michael’s College in 1982. He pastored churches in Kelowna and Pentiction, British Columbia, 1973-1976. He was a faculty member at Calvin College from 1980-1982; then he was at Redeemer College in Hamilton, Ontario, Canada, 1982-1988. He has been a faculty member at Calvin Theological Seminary since 1988 and was editor of the Calvin Theological Journal and the author of the Christian Reformed Today as well as The Christian Story and the Christian School. John is married to Ruth. Together they have 3 children along with 9 grandchildren.
