Collection Historical Note
Originally located at Barclay Ave. and Fountain St, Degage Ministries began as a coffeehouse for college students. It soon moved to the Heartside neighborhood. It currently focuses on serving the homeless and others in need. Degage Ministries considers itself an ecumenical Christian organization, as it supports spiritual well-being for individuals through Bible studies, prayer groups, and worship services. They also help provide basic needs such as food, personal hygiene, and administrative support (providing ID cards, help filling out job applications, etc.).
