Historical Note:

Gordon Oosterman was born on November 17, 1927 in North Bridge, Massachusetts. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II. Oosterman attended and graduated from Calvin College. He became a teacher and taught at many Christian Schools like, Middletown Christian School, Middletown, PA; Northwest Christian School, Lafayette, NJ; and Philmont Christian Academy, Philadelphia, PA.

He has authored a number of articles and books including, The People: Three Indian Tribes of the Southwest, 1973; Geneva to Geelong: The ideas and influence of John Calvin, 1974; and Coming to the New World: European Colonization of on the East Coast of North America, 1607-1763, 1979. Gordon Oosterman passed away on September 22, 2003 in Pennsylvania. He was survived by his wife, Marilyn Ferguson, and their children.
