Name: Boer, Geert (Gerrit) Egberts (1832-1904)

Historical Note: Geert or Gerrit Engberts Boer was born 1 March 1832 in Roderwolde, Drenthe, Netherlands. Gerrit's parents were farmers. Gerrit received his training at the Theological University at Kampen and received his diploma in 1865. Gerrit was ordained in 1865. Gerrit married Jetsche Holtrop and had eight children. Gerrit served as a Christian Reformed Church minister. He also worked as part of the faculty at Calvin Theological Seminary from 1876 until 1902 when he retired. Gerrit died 26 March 1904 in Grand Rapids, Michigan.
