Biographical Note

Frank De Jong was born in Hull, Iowa on July 15, 1900. De Jong attended Calvin Seminary and graduated in 1930. In the same year, De Jong married Ruth Drukker. Together they had three children–Barbara, Benjamin, and Carolina. Also in 1930, De Jong received the call to serve the congregation in Lector, Kansas. The De Jong family then moved on to the congregation at First Church of Pella, Iowa.

In 1938, De Jong received the call from California to work with their home missions. De Jong accepted the call as it had been a desire of his to work in home missions.  He worked throughout the state of California, working as a missionary for First Bellflower and a pastor of Second Bellflower; missionary work in Lakewood City; and missionary for southern California. In 1958, he worked as a home missionary for central California and Chaplain for V.A. Hospitals in Melo Park and Palo Alto until his retirement in 1966. De Jong passed away in 1993 in Ripon, California.
