Professor of geography at the University of Wisconsin, Madison, Wisconsin. The collection includes a thesis entitled "Emigration, Settlement, and Assimilation of Dutch Catholic Immigrants in Wisconsin, 1850-1905"; a paper entitled "Catholic Emigration from the Southern Province of the Netherlands in the Nineteenth Century"; and a conference paper entitled "Ethnic Solidarity and Assimilation among Dutch Protestant and Dutch Catholic Immigrant Groups in the State of Wisconsin, 1850-1905."
Biographical Information:

Yda Saueressig-Schreuder earned her B.A. in Geography from the University of Groningen in the Netherlands in 1971. She went on to earn her M.A. in Anthropology from the University of Michigan in 1975. From 1979 to 1982, Schreuder was a lecturer for the University of Maryland's department of Geography and Anthropology. She was also lectured at the University of Wisconsin's Geography Department between 1981 and 1982. In 1982 she earned her Ph.D. in Geography from the University of Wisconsin.

Since 1982 Schreuder has been working at the University of Delaware. She began as an Assistant Professor of Geography and became Associate Professor of Geography in 1990. Schreuder currently works as a Senior Policy Fellow at the Center for Energy and Environmental Policy at the University of Delaware. She researches topics on land-use, watershed, and sustainable development issues. She has also authored a number of publications such as The Corporate Greenhouse: Climate Change Policy in a Globalizing World and Dutch Catholic Immigrant Settlement in Wisconsin, 1850-1905.
