Author and Hudson Valley Dutch dialect expert. The collection includes a manuscript entitled "Laagduits of New York," also known as Albany/Jersey Dutch; and an article entitled "Het Poelmeisie: An Introduction to the Hudson Valley Dutch Dialect." The Bachman Manuscript Collection is at New York State Historical Association, Cooperstown, New York.

Biographical Note

Author and Hudson Valley Dutch dialect expert. Bachman studied and research a form of Holland Dutch spoken in the early nineteenth century by people in the New York and New Jersey region. This research was in preparation of a Low Dutch dictionary.
