Abstract

Director of certification at Calvin College. The collection includes correspondence; surveys; and proposals regarding the teaching, certifying, and placing of prospective teachers.

Biographical Note

Bert P. Bos born in Paterson, New Jersey in 1905. Attending college as an undergrad in New Jersey, Bos received his master’s and doctoral degrees from New York University.  Bos taught in public school until 1946 and then moved to Holland, MI where he was hired as superintendent of Christian schools.

In 1961 Bos served as the Director of Certification at Calvin. After 10 years as a Calvin staff member, Bos retired in 1971. He was married to Annette Wolkotten. Their children are Faith and E. Charles Nussdorfer, and Marcy and David Vanderwel.  He died in 1988.
