The Sidney Greidanus Papers house materials collected and created by Sidney Greidanus. This collection, which dates from 1965-2021, consists of readings, correspondence, and other materials from his publishing career and his time at King’s College.
A significant portion of this collection is composed of readings Greidanus collected and referenced while writing sermons. These materials were not written by Greidanus but provide insight into his thought processes. Materials accessible at Heritage Hall and Hekman Library or online were removed from the collection. A bibliography of removed materials is included in this collection.
Sermons written by Greidanus are housed in the archives at Baylor University.
Sidney Greidanus (born 1935) studied at Calvin College and Calvin Theological Seminary. He later received earned a Doctorate of Theology from the Free Universiyt in Amsterdam. He served as a pastor in the Christian Reformed Church and taught at Calvin College and The King’s College in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada before becoming a professor of preaching at Calvin Theological Seminary in 1990.
Greidanus is best known for his emphasis on preaching Christ from Old Testament texts and has published many books on the subject.
