Abstract

Early settler and businessman in Grandville, Michigan. The collection includes correspondence detailing family news, business matters, land payments in Michigan, and financial needs.

Biographical Note

Myron Roys was born in Sheffield, Massachusetts in 1808. He moved to White Pigeon, Michigan in May of 1833. He began to work for Ball and Wright, he worked on the construction of a dam and building for a mill on Buck Creek. In 1841 Roys married Ann McCray and together they had four sons and two daughters. He helped organized Town of Kent and elected constable.
