Abstract
Minister of the Christian Reformed Church. The collection includes: sermons, addresses, articles, a radio message, correspondence, a dissertation entitled, "The Faith of the Dutch Anabaptist," and slides of mission fields and travels (Nigeria, Taiwan, Bombay, Djakarta, Japan, Ceylon, Manila, Mexico, London, the Netherlands), 1975-1985.
Biographical Note
Renze De Groot was born on April 10, 1908 in Volga, South Dakota. In 1935, De Groot graduated from Calvin Theological Seminary. He worked as stated supply at churches in Otsego, Michigan; Momence, Illinois; Chicago, Illinois; and Orange City, Iowa. De Groot attended Northern Baptist Seminary for his graduate degree. His doctoral thesis was “Dutch Anabaptist-Reformation Period.” De Groot also had a great interest in missions and served as a member on the Christian Reformed Board of World Missions for twenty years. He helped form churches in Bellwood, Elmhurst, Park Lane, and Wheaton. De Groot retired in 1975. De Groot passed away on his own birthday in 1991. He left behind his wife, Ann, and three daughters and four sons.
