Historical Note:

Frank Doezema was born near Niezijl, Groninge, the Netherlands on July 16, 1871.  At the age of 10, Doezema and his family immigrated to the United States. His family settled in Grand Rapids, Michigan. Doezema professed his faith at the age of seventeen and eventually enrolled at Calvin Seminary to pursue ministry. In 1896, Doezema married Celia Top. Together they had six daughters.

After graduation in 1899 accepted the call from Midland Park, New Jersey and was ordained there in October of that year. Later he returned to Grand Rapids to serve the West Leonard Street church in 1905. Eventually he moved on to First Roseland in Chicago, Illinois where he remained until his retirement in 1944. On November 21, 1967, Rev. Frank Doezema passed away in Palos Heights, Illinois.
