Abstract
The Friends of the University of Mkar was also known as Friends of the Institute of Christian Studies (unofficially from 1988-1997) and as Friends of Hilltop University (officially from 1997-2004). The Friends of the University of Mkar assist with fund raising, promotions, volunteer recruitment, obtaining educational materials, and public relations in North America. The collection includes: a history, articles of incorporation, minutes, correspondence, reports, pamphlets, and photographs.
Collection Historical Note
On November 2, 1988 the doors opened for 150 students at the Institute of Christian Studies in Mkar, Nigeria. The Friends of the University of Mkar is a North American organization that was established to support and promote the University of Mkar.
