Abstract
Professor of history at University of Calgary, Calgary, Alberta, Canada. The collection includes a thesis, entitled Dutch Immigration to Canada, 1892-1940, doctoral thesis, University of Toronto, 1975; an article published in Canadian Ethnic Studies, "Canada the Last Illusion," 1979; and twenty microfilm reels called the Ganzevoort Canadian Immigration Project. The microfilm reels detail backup immigrant documents, i.e., Toronto, Ontario; Canadian origins; Hamilton, Ontario; Holland Marsh, Ontario; Montreal, Quebec; societies, agents and problems; NVL-ECH-SLN; Winnipeg, Manitoba; general information; and an inventory list of microfilm reels regarding Stichting Landverhuizing Nederland (SLN). Biographical Note
Herman Ganzevoort, PhD (University of Toronto), MA (Wayne State University), AB (Calvin College), specialized in Aboriginal, ethnic, and immigration history, Canadian history, and religious history. His research focused on Canadian immigration and Dutch immigration. Ganzevoort was born in the Netherlands on December 23, 1942. He was married to Karen Fry, and together they had 2 sons. Ganzevoort passed away in Calgary, Alberta, Canada on September 11, 2014.
