Abstract
Chaplain and home missionary. The collection includes sermons, articles on Diamond Chapel (Zeeland, Michigan), Good News Chapel (Oskaloosa, Iowa), Horseshoe Chapel (Allegan, Michigan), Milgrove Chapel (Allegan, Michigan), Helping Hand Mission (Chicago, Illinois), and Christian Aaron Post #788 (Chicago, Illinois); plus a tribute to his ministry, and a 16mm film [1949] also a video on the Helping Hand Mission entitled "Christ on the Street."
Biographical Note
Henry G. Jager was born on August 29, 1896. In late 1930s Jager was the Chaplain the American Legion of the all Christian Aaron Post # 788 in Chicago, Illinois. He moved to Allegan, Michigan where he helped build chapels and preached at Diamond School under classis Zeeland. He then served as superintendent of the Chicago Helping Hand mission under classis North from 1947 to 1950. In the latter half of the 1950s, Jager served as a Missionary in Marion, Michigan for a short period. Before retiring from full time missionary work, Jager served the Good News Chapel in Oskaloosa, Iowa. Henry G. Jager passed away on January 11, 1993.
