Abstract
Minister of the Reformed Church in America and professor at Hope College. The collection includes correspondence, 1856-1897; two essays entitled "The Critical Gospels" and "The Preaching of the Gospel"; a biography of A. C. Van Raalte; Van Der Veen's instruction for his funeral and burial; financial notes; articles; a history of Hope College; sermons, 1858-1895; class notes; pamphlets; sermon outlines; plus letters and financial records, 1851-1856, of W. T. Taylor.
Biographical Note
Christian Vander Veen was a minister of the Reformed Church in American and professor at Hope College. As a student he attended Hope Academy, Rutgers College, and New Brunswick Theological Seminary. He passed away on October 17, 1896.
