Ralph John Danhof (28 Jul. 1900-13 Oct. 1971) was born in Chicago, Illinois to John and Marie (nee Hoekstra) Danhof. He graduated from Calvin College, 1922; Calvin Theological Seminary in 1925; and earned a Th.D. from the Free University of Amsterdam in 1929. Ordained 13 September 1929 in the ministry of the Christian Reformed Church, he served First in Pella, IA; Fourteenth Street in Holland, MI; Neland Avenue in Grand Rapids, MI 1945-1956. During his tenure at Neland Avenue he served at the part-time Stated Clerk of the denomination; the position became full-time in 1956 and he served until 1970.
Danhof and Margaret Van Dellen, also from Chicago, were married in 1925. They had four children: John William, Helene Marilyn, Calvin Robert, and Roger Jay.
