Name: Albert Huisjen (1889-1979)
Historical Note: Albert Huisjen was a missionary born in Holland, Michigan in 1889 to Albert and Geertje Huisjen. The focus of Huisjen’s career was the denomination’s outreach to the Jewish community. In 1923, he was appointed to the Chicago Jewish Mission of the Christian Reformed Church. He served as a general missionary, superintendent of the Chicago work, and director and field missionary in Parish Jewish Evangelism. Huisjen retired in 1956 but continued to be an active member of the Jewish Evangelism Committee of the Christian Reformed Board of Home Missions.
