Name: John Lagerwey (1946 -)

Historical Note: John Lagerwey was born in 1946 in Grand Rapids. His parents were Walter Lagerwey and Wilhelmina (Wilma) Ditmar Lagerwey. His father was professor of Dutch at Calvin college from 1953 to 1983. Lagerwey studied at Calvin College, graduated from the University of Michigan with a B.A. in English Language and Literature in 1968, and earned a Ph.D. in Chinese studies at Harvard University in 1975.
