Andrew De Vries was born in Dokkum, Friesland, The Netherlands on April 21, 1890. De Vries and his parents immigrated to the United States when he was 18 years old. De Vries enrolled at Calvin Preparatory School and graduated from the Seminary in 1920.
In the same year of his graduation, De Vries was ordained in Niekerk, Michigan. De Vries went on to serve the congregations in Leighton, Iowa (1925), Borculo, Michigan (1929), Colton, South Dakota (1945), and Portland, Michigan (1950). In 1950 De Vries’ first wife passed away and in 1954 he was remarried to Tjabrena Jager. De Vries retired from ministry in 1955. Rev. Andrew De Vries passed away on August 30, 1957, leaving behind his wife, two daughters, one son, and ten grandchildren.
