Richard John Mouw (April 22, 1940 - ) is the President Emeritus and Senior Professor of Faith and Public Life at Fuller Theological Seminary. He earned his BA from Houghton College, M. Div. from Western Theological Seminary, MA from the University of Alabama, and a Ph.D. from the University of Chicago. Mouw served as professor of philosophy at Calvin University for 17 years before starting at Fuller in 1985. He also served as a visiting professor at the Free University in Amsterdam. At Fuller Theological Seminary, Mouw served as provost and senior vice president for four years and as president for 20 years from 1993-2013. He has authored 19 books, served as an editor for the Reformed Journal, and as a panelist for the online forum “On Faith” by the Washington Post. He was awarded the Abraham Kuyper Prize for Excellence in Reformed Theology and Public Life in 2007 by Princeton Theological Seminary. Mouw lives in California with his wife, Phyllis, an art historian who is involved in seminary and community programs.
